To the best of my knowledge we (the Anglican Communion) have always had a broad range of understanding in our different churches. We can't avoid it given the number of cultures the communion spans. But, we've always been willing to come to the same table. That to me has up until now been the "Anglican Consensus"--that we understand our faith in different ways, but come to the altar with the humble understanding that we don't know everything, and may not be right, but that we trust that God loves and nurtures each of us.
